McChrystal clear blunder: A Costly Price for a Simple Lesson on Authority
June 25, 2010 Gaffes, bloopers, faux pas, slips, misspeaks, blunder. Call it any way you want, but it won’t erase the fact that General Stanley McChrystal’s mistake was serious, huge and irrevocable. Sadly, the price he had to pay for it was a lifetime of dreams shattered and a future that only seemed destined for glory until, of course, this one tragic error of judgment.
What was this General thinking, talking the way he did about his Commander- in- Chief and his handpicked leaders? It didn’t seem at all that he cared even if the whole world heard about it. It wasn’t like he was set up and taped surreptitiously as Sarah Fergusson had been when she was caught on tape selling access to Prince Andrew. Gen. What’s a TV host to do?
Should she (a) cue for a commercial break; (b) feign ignorance; or (c) call a spade a spade and walk out?

Charice to sing at Aquino inaugural RP singer to join US musical TV show ‘Glee’

MANILA – International singing sensation Charice Pempengco has been selected to sing the national anthem at the inauguration of President Benigno C. Aquino III on June 30 at the Quirino grandstand in Luneta.

Ara said she and her sister were treated shabbily by their promoter who also did not pay their talent fee and expenses as agreed.

In an all-Filipino finale in King, Clutario bag men’s and ladies’ masters titles in PBC kegfest both divisions, King subdued comebacking Joonee Gatchalian, who bowled with only one eye, 210-198, for his second RP Open masters plum in five years while Clutario dumped national teammate Lara Posadas, 160-151, for her first masters crown after 10 consecutive tries. Health experts warn anew of contaminated street foods

MANILA — The Department of Science and Technology again warned regular eaters of street foods, most of which are students, whose health is at risk due to possible ingestion of fecally-soiled eggs from streetcorners’ Kwek-kwek stall and other ill-prepared foods.
Meat, milk, eggs and other meat/milk/egg products are safe –when properly handled. But in some cases here, animal- sourced foods have yet to be made safe, Dr. Mildred A. Padilla, a professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, UP Los Baños said. Continue reading
