Fermin Santos Salvador

ESTADO –  Fermin Santos Salvador currently a certified Habilitation Program Coordinator (HPC) in the Department of Human Services of the Illinois State Government.

Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Education major in English and Pilipino (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila/PLM – 1987) and Bachelor of Laws (Lyceum of the Philippines – 1992).

Before immigrating to the United States, a Senior Inspector (Captain) in the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP); awarded BJMP nationwide Junior Officer of the Year in 2003; first placer in the first Penology Officer Examination given by the Civil Service Commission; and pioneered the Paralegal Program for the legal welfare of detainees.

Chosen as one of the writing fellows in the University of the Philippines (UP) Creative Writing Center (now Institute) summer writers’ workshop in 1987.

Komiks writer starting at the age of 18 and has published about a thousand short stories in komiks form, well-anthologized poet, author of romance novels, a seasoned and prize-winning (Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino) essayist.
