PHILIPPINE ADVENTURES – Fred C. Wilson III received his B.S. in Education from Loyola University of Chicago, Associate degree with Honors in Fine Art, and a master’s degree in Urban Education from Governor’s State University.
He has taught for 32 years (30 years Chicago Public Schools-1 year Archdiocese of Chicago-1 year Chicago Boys/Girls Clubs). Before that he worked in the field of Engineering-Design for the Regional Transportation Authority for 5 years. He’s also worked for H & R Block as an income tax professional.
He’s written and published his first novel ‘Jade Rose,’ and written for Streetwise, The Epoch Times, Chicago Artists Coalition, Senior Connections, Asian Journal, Asian American Community Builder, Balita-USA, with contributions to Chicago Tribune, Internet Press, Our Sunday Visitor, Chicago Teachers Union newspaper, The Daily Herald, Taj Mahal (India), Hotel Review (Italy), and Together Magazine. Mr. Wilson has acted in Langton Hughes’s stage play ‘Something Heavenly’ and had a bit part in TV series Chicago Hope.’
He has participated in the 2010 CPL Radio WBEZ ‘Poetry Cram’ and was a member of NWA in Roger’s Park in Chicago and Indymedia-Quebec, Canada. He’s a member of the Catholic Press Association and NPC-Phil. He’s taught Adult Education at Maple Pointe Apartments (Art/Creative Writing).
