U.P. Concert Chorus Celebrates 50th Year In Chicago

The University of the Philippines Concert Chorus (Korus) includes Chicago in the world tour to celebrate its 50th year of superlative choir performances all over the world. A veteran of 19 world concert tours, Korus promotes Filipino culture and heritage while earning numerous prestigious awards in Germany, Italy, London, Philippines and the U.S.

Billed as “Singkwenta, SingKwela,” the 2012 Korus concert will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at the Living Water Community Church, 190 Lily Cache, Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Proceeds from the Korus concert will fund a research project by the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, University of the Philippines Iloilo. An establishment of marine protected areas in San Joaquin, Iloilo will help ensure ecological integrity, high biodiversity and sustainable level of pristine coastal area for food security and fishing resource management.
The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Greater Chicago (UPAAGC) invites the Filipino community and friends to an enjoyable afternoon of Filipino “kundiman,” folk songs and popular music.
