Morales reshuffles Ombudsman officials

QUEZON CITY – Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales has begun her crackdown at the Office of the Ombudsman (Ombudsman) by getting rid of the allies of the old administration, particularly those of former Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon Mark Jalandoni.

Morales relieved the appointees of the former Ombudsman administration.

Assistant Ombudsman Caesar Asuncion was ordered assigned from Field Investigation Office (FIO-I) to Ombudsman’s Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices (MOLEO).”They are directed to immediately turn over their respective functions, responsibilities and workload to the new designees to their positions, and to report to their immediate supervisors for briefing,” Morales said.

The revamp also affected Dir. Beda Epres; Director, Intelligence Bureau, FIO; Dir. Edgardo Diansuy, Director IV, Finance & Management Information Office (FMIO); Atty. Ferdinand San Joaquin, Graft Investigation and Prosecution Office (GIPO) II, GIB-B, FIO.

Morales also designated Atty. Moreno Generoso, Director of PIAB-B, as Acting Assistant Ombudsman, PAMO I, in concurrent capacity until the return from sick leave of Assistant Ombudsman Aleu Amante.

“Epres is directed to turn over his work and functions to Atty. Joaquin and to immediately report to Assistant Ombudsman-FMIO Weomark Ryan Layson,” the order said.

The Ombudsman also directed Diansuy to turn over his present workload to Epres and “to immediately report to Assistant Ombudsman and Spokesperson Asryman Rafanan for coordination as to his new assignment as Acting Director of the Media Affairs Bureau (MAB).”

Ma. Luz Rendon, Chief, Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), OMB-Proper, has been transferred as Chief Administrative Officer at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

The current chief of the OSP’s admin office, Erlina Bernabe, was designated at the HRMD, OMB-Proper while Dominga Barasi, chief of the OMB Central Records Division (CRD) has been designated as chief administrative officer at the MOLEO.
