Willie Revillame gains as Shalani, Mariel in the news

The turn of events has gone in favor of the controversial Willie Revillame.

While he is still battling a case filed by his former studio, ABS-CBN, his show, “Wil Time, Big Time,” continues to earn a big following – viewers as well as advertisers and patrons.

And the positive news about his co-host, Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, is also helping boost his TV 5 show.

And now comes also the news about the possibility of Mariel Rodriguez, her co-host in his show in ABS-CBN, may rejoin him at TV5. Speculation about Mariel and husband Robin Padilla is also boosting the stock of Willie and his show.

Willie, of course, should be credited for continually improving his show to be able to eat up a big following, especially among the “masa.”
Now, he has a Brazilian model on his side in the game show even as he offers more prizes and assistance to the needy, making him closer to the common folk.

Lately, he has also focused on the disabled and handicapped to help awaken the senses of the people on that sector and possibly trigger help.
Now, on Shalani.
The three-term councilor and former presidential girlfriend is engaged with Pasig City Congressman Roman Romulo.
In the show, Shalani always wears the engagement ring given by Romulo which he said comes from the heirloom of his mother Lovely and father, former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo.

This gesture all the more triggers many stories about the romance of the beautiful Shalani and her lawmaker boyfriend, a daily fare that titillates every Filipino.

According to reports, Shalani and Romulo’s romance will end up in the altar of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Valenzuela City in February.

Speculations are that the church will most likely be the venue of their wedding because Shalani is a devotee of the Lady of Fatima.

And Congressman Roman proposed to her while both of them were kneeling in front of the Blessed Virgin of Fatima at the shrine.

Willie Revillame himself may have boosted Shalani’s good fortune. His getting her as a co-host was a big gamble, considering that she is new in television hosting.

To promote Shalani, it came to a point that it was rumored that there was romance brewing between Willie and the councilor.

It turns out all were for gimmickry to promote their show.

Now, both Willie and Shalani are riding on the popularity of each other.

For sure, Shalani owes a lot from Willie for giving her a big break in show business. Will she leave him after she gets married?

Shalani has a ready answer: it depends on “Kamahalan,” the term used by die-hard supporters of Willie.
”Depende kay Kamahalan (referring to Willie),” she said.

Willie himself was not ready for any answer. He was overheard saying that the wedding will still be next year. “Matagal pa naman ‘yun (the wedding).

Saka na natin pag-usapan,” he was quoted as saying by showbiz authority Ethel Ramos.

On Mariel Rodriguez, Willie said he has nothing to do with her decision to join TV5.

And on her plan to re-join him in his show, Willie clarified that it all depends on TV5 management.

Already, showbiz is abuzz with reports that  Mariel’s joining TV5 is almost a done deal.

Mariel was a co-host of Willie’s former show with the ABS-CBN network, “Wowowee.” At present, she is a co-host of the network’s noontime show, “Happy Yipee Yehey,” with former Willie’s co-host “Pokwang.”

Willie stressed that he had no idea at all about Mariel’s decision to quit ABS-CBN and moving to TV5.

Whether true or not, the talks benefit Willie and TV 5 and Mariel as well.
