Vilma Santos teams up with Kim Chiu

Batangas Governor Vilma Santos Recto is back in the movies.

This time, the Star for All Seasons will be appearing with television Primetime Drama Princess and “My Binondo Girl” star Kim Chiu.

It’s a horror/suspense movie that will unite Vilma and Kim. And they are shocked and happy with the decision of the movie producer Star Cinema to topbill them in the movie.

Seasoned director Chito Rono will direct the film and some sequences maybe shot in her home province of Batangas.

Asked by the media what made her decide to do the movie, Vilma said the storyline and her co-actors pushed her to accept the role.

“At this point in time I’m looking for something new. Unang una sa story, plus a fact that I’ll be doing a movie with Kim Chiu and that’s something very important,” said the actress governor.

Is Vilma doing the movie in response to the return to the movies of her arch acting rival but good friend Nora Aunor?
Vilma has a ready answer.

“Pareho naman kaming parte ng industriya kaya normal lang naman yun. Kung pareho kaming merong maiko-contribute sa movie industry eh why not (We are both part of the industry so that’s normal. If both of us can contribute to the movie industry, why not?)” she said.

Superstar Nora Aunor is now filming her comeback movie “El Presidente,” a bio movie about President Emilio Aguinaldo, with Laguna Governor ER Ejercito. She plays the role of the wife of President Emilio Aguinaldo in the movie.

The Star for All Seasons said that more movies mean a boost in the film industry.

Vilma said she is still very hopeful that her movie project with the Megastar Sharon Cuneta will push through next year. She knows that it will materialize soon and promises a bigger movie from both of them.

“It’s not meant yet, looking forward pa rin and kahit kami naman ni Sharon eh hindi nawawalan ng pag-asa eh. We know that we’ll be doing a movie together,” she said.
