Dolphy planning world concert tour at 82

Zsa Zsa Padilla is in high spirits these, especially after long-time partner Dolphy received a presidential award of merit from President Aquino in Malacanang.

She disclosed that Dolphy has turned 82 and despite his age, he is still capable and with strong spirit.

The singer-actress made the statement amid speculations that the top Philippine comedian is sickly and his followers were practically frantic in pushing for a National Artist award while still “alive and kicking.”

But Dolphy himself pointed out that the award presented to him recently by President Aquino was more than enough recognition for his role in the movie industry as an actor, comedian, singer and movie producer.

“Mas okay ito kaysa National Arthritis Award,” Dolphy, whose real name is Rodolfo V. Quizon, even joked at the Malacanang ceremonies for his award.

Zsa Zsa said Dolphy is even planning a world concert tour next year.

“Meron nang mga nagtatanong for a US tour with the Quizon clan. So talagang ‘Yes!’ agad ako. Sabi ko na nga ba mag-concert ka pa sa Araneta Coliseum,” added Zsa Zsa.

The still beautiful and attractive singer-actress said it’s her wish that she, Dolphy and family will be together this Christmas.

“Ang wish ko lang, we could spend Christmases together…” she said.

“ He’s okay, but, you know, he’s 82 years old so… Sometimes you forget that about him because, in our hearts, siyempre katulad ko parang… sa maraming tao, parang frozen na siya as ‘John’ or as ‘Kevin Cosme’ of ‘Home Along the Riles.’ He has a very, very strong spirit,” she added.

Dolphy stars in “Father Jejemon,” one of the entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Zsa Zsa is helping promote the movie as well as the film festival itself.

Other filmfest entries include “Tanging Ina Mo Rin (Last na ‘To!)” with Aiai delas Alas and “Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote” which stars two box-office kings, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Vic Sotto.
