Binay admits meeting Kris anew but denies courting her

Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay has admitted meeting presidential sister Kris Aquino again amid widespread speculation that he is courting her.

But the young Binay, son of Vice President Jejomar Binay, explained that their most recent meeting was purely accidental and it happened in a public event.

Neil Ramos reported for Bulletin that the youthful mayor pointed out that he and Kris hardly spoke with each other during the event.

To end further speculation, the young mayor ultimately said, “If you really want to ask about Kris, we’re just friends. Magkaibigan talaga kami.”

Binay, according to the Bulletin report, had said he hardly communicates with Aquino if at all.

Binay, who is a widower, also pointed out that he is yet to find a “special someone.”

Binay’s wife died last year due to cardiac arrest and massive bleeding after prematurely giving birth to their fourth child.

Kris, on the other hand, has filed separation petition in court from her husband, basketball player James Yap with whom she has a son, James Yap Jr.

Kris was earlier romantically linked with actor and former Paranaque City mayor Joey Marquez and before that with actor Philip Salvador with whom she has a son, Joshua.

Binay and Aquino were caught in a whirlwind of controversy after having been sighted in a mall together a few months ago.

The sighting fueled speculations and rumors that Binay and Kris have fallen to each other.

The speculations spread when the loquacious Aquino revealed thereafter that Binay supposedly possesses everything she wants in a man. She also admitted that Binay had been generous with his support during the early months of her severance with Yap.
