Kris Aquino ‘asked’ to leave ABS-CBN’s ‘Win na Win’

Has popular presidential sister Kris Aquino lost her following?

The question is being asked in the showbiz circle after Kris admitted that she has been asked to leave the new show of ABS-CBN, “Pilipinas Win na Win,” two months after hosting it. The show has failed at the ratings, it was gathered.

Kris said her last day on the show that replaced Willie Revillame’s “Wowowee” would be on October 1. She added that she will continue her other showbiz commitments.

The television host stressed that she did not quit or resign from the show but was “asked to leave.”

“I was asked to leave Win to make room for new male hosts. I’m honest and humble enough to not lie about the true situation,” the Queen of All Media clarified via a Twitter post on Sept. 28.

“It was a good work and learning experience for me, but it’s time to go,” read a part of her other tweet.

This developed as Kris amended her petition for annulment of her marriage with basketball star James Yap with whom she has a child, James Jr.

It was also gathered that the estranged couple have agreed on the division of their money and properties involving some P300 million.

In the amended petition filed last Sept. 24 at the Makati City Regional Trial Court, Kris and her lawyers added “psychological incapacity” as another ground for annulment.

The couple is said to have “mental disorders” since they were young, thus rendering them incapable to continue their marriage, the petition stated.

The camp’s initial petition, which they filed last Aug. 9 at the Makati RTC, cited the lack of authority of solemnizing officer as the main ground for the dissolution of their marriage.

In a report on Bandera last Sept. 27, Kris was quoted as saying that the show will introduce new male hosts on Oct. 2, Saturday.

The said new hosts, according to another report on Philippine Star published Sept. 28, are classic hitmakers Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera, Marco Sison and Nonoy Zuñiga. Coincidentally, these veteran singers had a brief stint as guest hosts of “Wowowee.”

Kris, according to a Bulletin report of Rowena Joy Sanchez, admitted that “Win na Win” failed to lord over the ratings unlike its predecessor “Wowowee.”

“I can’t complain naman… I tried but it didn’t work. You can’t win it all,” the TV host-actress was quoted as telling the tabloid.

“Shooting some commercials in the next few weeks but Dalaw script still going thru revisions so I’m gonna give myself some time to de-stress, de-compress and pray. Doing my version of Eat Pray Love, mine is Exercise Pray Heal,” she said in her Sept. 28 tweet.

While new hosts will be added to the “Win na Win” family, there are rumors that the show might soon be canned. The replacement, according to a PEP Scoopbox post on Sept. 28, will be the new season of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”

Previous seasons of the game show were hosted by Kris. Already, there are rumors now that Kris would again resume the hosting reins of the returning show.

Her other show, “Pilipinas, Game K N B?” is also rumored to make its return on TV. The industry buzz long before there even was “Win na Win” was that Kris would return with the show.
