Makata ng Pamilya/The Poet in the Family (Facebook Page)

by Fermin Salvador.
January 1, 2012

WHEN THE REVOLUTION COMES The intensifying world revolt-Part 1

by Fred C. Wilson III
January 1, 2012

Just when I thought the human race was about to max out, especially our young folks whose lives seemingly center around video games, X-boxes, cellular telephones, Blackberries (sex, booze, and football of course) and a host of very expensive high tech toys, GOD pulls a fast one. by Carmelita Cochingco Ballesteros.
January 1, 2012
Christmas in a “bahay- kubo?” Unthinkable, some of you might say. Most of my friends and relatives are city folk, but my immediate family and I are country folk at heart. It’s the classic city mouse and country mouse conflict of comfort zones. Continue reading

A second look at retirement in the Philippines

by Yoly Tumangan Tubalinal.
January 1, 2012
A fierce debate is going on in Washington about MEDICARE, the one program our country’s baby boomers (and that includes me) can’t live without at this point in their lives. Some very likely changes/possibilities are scary – raising the eligibility age to 67, increasing premiums for many beneficiaries, revamping co-paynments and deductibles in ways that would raise cost for retirees, privatization of Medicare and heaven knows what more? Continue reading
