It looks like we have some good news with regard to the U.S. unemployment rate for a change. Corona’s “Propaganda War”

January 31, 2011
Recently, Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona blasted some “unnamed parties” for waging a “propaganda war” against the Supreme Court. Corona seems to be taking all the criticism against the High Court quite seriously to a point where he launched his own “propaganda war” against the perceived “black propagandists.” Continue reading

State of the Union

January 31, 2011
President Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, the 26th of January was a much awaited event. One such opinion forbade the president from claiming that the state of the union was strong. She told the President instead, to call it “unsettled.” Continue reading

by Yoly Tumangan Tubalinal.
January 31, 2011
For some people, the future is way too abstract and far too distant to imagine that they’d rather live their lives one day at a time. They plan around what they already know and expect to happen, not around things that don’t exist even in the figment of their imagination. Continue reading

The Filipino Channel’s Balitang America recently featured Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother Chinay author Amy Chua in a news segment that included street interviews of Filipinos who were asked their reaction to Chua’s parental directive that her two daughters not watch TV or play video games during school days and that they spend at least 4 hours a day studying their books and practicing their piano and violin. And that they never get less than an A for any of their subjects. Continue reading

Are cancers preventable?

WARNING! Before you start reading ‘Slavery in the Philippines’ let me caution you. This is an interactive article, almost like seeing a movie in 3D. If you were to view a movie in three dimensions without proper glasses you’ll miss out on most of the action. In similar fashion, this article, if you read but ignore the visuals listed, you’ll miss 90% of the article’s intent. Continue reading
