RP warned on ballooning population

MANILA – A United States-based population and health expert has warned that the Philippines could be as impoverished as Somalia because of its ballooning population.

MANILA — The Department of Tourism (DOT) will retire the “WOW Philippines” slogan next week to reinvigorate the country’s tourism campaign and double tourist arrivals within the next three years.
President Aquino said the DOT will retire the WOW Philippines slogan and introduce a new ad, featuring a new logo, which will hopefully generate renewed interest of foreign visitors to the country. Continue reading

TALENT MANAGER WYNGARD TRACY PASSES AWAY

One of the Philippines most respected artist & talent manager Wyngard Tracy passed away this past Tuesday, November 16. He was 58.
Wyngard was rushed to Makati Medical Center on October 20 in which he suffered his third stroke. The following day, on October 21, Tracy had an operation to remove the blood clot in his brain. Earlier in July, he underwent a heart surgery after he was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack.

During a gathering of CEOs and heads of state at the recent 8th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference in Yokohama, Japan, President Benigno Aquino III caught everybody by surprise when he took the floor and lashed out at the United States and five other countries for issuing travel advisories – or, more aptly, “terror alerts” – to their citizens traveling to the Philippines. The summit, billed “Economic Integration and the Future of APEC” and attended by 20 other heads of state and government, was thrown off tangent when Aquino launched a tirade against the six countries.
