Prevent Alzheimer’s
July 23, 2010
Alzheimer’s, a severely devastating disease of the brain that, in an instant, totally robs and erases the person’s memory, is a nightmare everyone fears. When it occurs, it happens so fast like transforming a well-lit room into total darkness with a flip of a switch. The entire memory bank is emptied, turning even a great, talented mind and a charismatic communicator, like the late President Ronald Reagan, one of the best… Continue reading

The world is not safe for young girls anymore. Every day is a test in selfrestraint; thwarting off the temptation to succumb to the latest lure becomes harder and harder. It is a constant battle to simply say no when it comes to living up to people’s expectations.
Girls as young as junior high don’t think twice about asking for a boob job and it’s not unheard of for high school girls to want same fake boobies as their graduation gift.Nose job, face-lift, tummy tuck, cheek enhancement, lip augmentation, butt implants…the list keeps getting… Continue reading

by Don Azarias
July 23, 2010
It seems like President Barack Obama’s political fortune is turning into misfor tune lately and it’s causing him and his Democratic allies a lot of grief. Obama’s biggest problem: He has lost the so-called independent and moderate voters who are generally given the most credit for his win back in 2008. Reflections – the Simplicity of Life
July 23, 2010
Ever since I started writing as a student section editor of “The Varsitarian”, I was a part of “Witness”, the same name I gave this column. During those times, I only wrote twice a month, every other week. Apparently it was simple, yet in fact it was not. The leg work behind every article or poetry I scribbled was so archaic and tedious that I chuckled every time I reminisced. It all started a week before deadline. To begin with, we clacked our pieces on a huge IBM typing machines that embedded tiny embossed letters… Continue reading

Philippines has to start looking into its rich natural resources and tapping into them to produce wealth in its own turf rather than finding more countries in the farthest corners of the globe to send its people to for work. For all we know, we could be looking for wealth in all the wrong places when it’s right here under our noses.Visit Israel and you will be surprised to find out that, despite being a small country with meager supply of… Continue reading
