Top actor and television host Aga Muhlach celebrated his 43rd birthday last Sunday, August 12, by doing a grand concert in his parent’s hometown of Goa, Camarines Sur.
“Masayang masaya po ako. Sobrang taba ng puso ko ngayon sa suporta, sa pagmamahal na pinapakita po sa akin ng mga taga dito. (I am very happy. My heart bleeds with the support and love expressed for me by the people here),” the actor said after the show.
Muhlach said he is very happy that the people of Camarines Sur welcomed him with open arms. He will be seeking a congressional seat in the Partido district of Camarines Sur in the 2013 elections. He has built a house and has registered as a voter there.
Aga was joined in the birthday concert by Kapamilya stars Angel Locsin, Billy Crawford and Albert Martinez.
His good friends Andrew E., comedian Bayani Agbayani and the Side A band also performed during the show.
“We’re very good friends. Hindi lang kami magkamag-anak, we’re best buddies. Isa siyang mabait na tao so I believe marami siyang magagawa at maitutulong sa mga taga-rito,” actor Albert Martinez said of Muhlach, who is a cousin of his wife Liezl.
Aside from the celebrities, Camarines Sur Governor L-Ray Villafuerte and his son Migz were there to welcome Muhlach.
Villafuerte, who will run also for congressman in another district after finishing his third term as governor in 2013, said he is glad to have found a new friend in Muhlach.
“Ako’y natutuwa, ang ating bagong kaibigan na taga Camarines Sur, na talagang tubong Goa, tubong kapatido, na talagang nag-celebrate ng kanyang birthday,” he said.
Migz, on the other hand, vowed he would give his 100% support as Muhlach runs for Congressman in the upcoming elections.
“Aga, brother, happy birthday. Sinisigurado ko po na magbibigay kami ng hundred percent na suporta sa iyo,” he said.
The actor’s wife Charlene Gonzales wished Aga good luck as he enters a new chapter in his life.
“Ang birthday wish ko lang sa ‘yo, sana sa panibagong kabanata na papasukin mo ngayon, sana mas lalo kang gabayan ng Diyos,” Charlene said.
Aga also traveled to far away Camotes Island in Cebu to shoot a special episode for his TV5 show “Pinoy Explorer.”
The episode showed Muhlach interacting with several locals performing several “challenges” presented to him as part of the occasion. These included having to learn how to craft his own banig and sleeping in an isolated area in the island, according to Bulletin and ABS-CBN reports.
For food, the actor had to settle for a ripe papaya he had found himself while exploring the island. Later, a local fisherman, helped him catch fish for his dinner.
The next day, the actor joined locals in a feast replete with singing and dancing.
Muhlach then spoke to the crowd telling them how much he had enjoyed himself. “Maraming salamat sa inyo, hindi ko makakalimutan ‘tong araw na ito at masayang-masaya ako na nakasama ko kayong lahat, thank you very much,” he said.
Before the episode concluded, Muhlach was given three letters, one of which came from his wife, Charlene Gonzalez, which read: “To my soulmate, my life partner, and my best friend. Thank you for giving me and the kids the gift of love. Always remember, no matter what, the kids and I will always be with you, to love you and support you 100 percent, happy birthday my love and here’s to many more years to come and happiness. P.S. We miss you very much.”
Another letter from his son, Andres, read: “Dear Dad, happy birthday, I love you so much, you’re the best dad in the whole world. I love you.”
His daughter Atasha, on the other hand, wrote: “Dear Dad, happy birthday, you are the best dad in the world, you support me all the time. Thank you for making me feel like I’m the best daughter in the world. I love you and happy birthday.”
