Pia Guanio confirms wedding with non-showbiz boyfriend

Now, it’s official: television host Pia Guanio has married her non-showbiz boyfriend Steve Mago.
Pia herself broke the news in the GMA talk show “Showbiz Central” which she, Jennylyn Mercado, John Lapus, Ruffa Mae Quinto and Raymond Gutierrez co-host.

Pia, who earlier was linked to top actor-comedian Vic Sotto, also appears in GMA’s top-rating show “Eat Bulaga,” and other shows.

She said the Christian wedding with the businessman was held last October 1 in the garden of Steve’s parents in Ayala Alabang in Muntinlupa City.
There will possibly be a second wedding which will be made public next year when they said they will go on honeymoon.

She said they were not ready for honeymoon this year because she and hubby are both busy with several commitments
“I will categorically answer that, and the answer is yes. We just really wanted it private. And we wanted just a few people because we really wanted to concentrate on the ceremony, on the blessing, and the message from our pastor,” she said.

She added: “Ayaw talaga namin ng any kind of unnecessary distractions which are a big wedding entails. Minabuti na lang namin to just have our families present because, honestly, sila lang naman talaga yung pinakaimportante.”

She said they made time to prepare spiritually and emotionally for the marriage they will share together.

“I mean, so many people think that a wedding is one day, but it’s not. It’s a long period of preparations. And I don’t mean flowers, I don’t mean themes, I don’t mean motifs, I don’t mean ten-gazillion guests,’ she said.

Pia also told the GMA show: “We are missing the forest for the trees. Parang with all the preparations, sometimes nami-miss mo yung mensahe talaga, yung kahalagahan nung okasyon. And this is what I love about what happened because it was very solemn, it was very meaningful, and it was very heartfelt.”

Pia confessed that most of her showbiz friends did not know of the wedding.
