ShareThisPASAY CITY – Former Shari’a judge Nagamura Moner has linked former Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) general manager Alfonso Cusi and former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo into the alleged cheating during the 2004 presidential elections.
Moner made the revelation during the Senate inquiry into the anomalous purchase of Philippine National Police (PNP) helicopters, adding that during the canvassing of the 2004 presidential elections, he was instructed by the former First Gentleman to do something on the low turnout of votes of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Moner said sometime on May 14, 2004, he allegedly received a call from Cusi, who latter passed the phone to Mike Arroyo.
“He just told me to do everything for the President and after the elections I will take care of you and your family,” Moner said.
Moner claimed he received P3 million to operate on the results of the elections.
The former Shari’a judge was one of the passengers of one of the two helicopters allegedly owned by Mr. Arroyo and later sold to the PNP as brand new.
With the testimony of Moner, Senate blue ribbon committee chairman Senator Teofisto Guingona III said he would now prepare the committee report on the PNP choppers inquiry and shift the probe into the 2004 elections cheating.
”Well there is enough already to make a committee report. This might be the last for now. What happened today was this investigation branched out to the election fraud. In the next hearing, we will concentrate on the election fraud already,” Guingona said.
Guingona said the blue ribbon will also file necessary cases against the persons involved in the anomalous transaction involving P105 million for the purchase of one brand new and two second hand choppers.
