ShareThisMANILA – Science and Technology Secretary Mario Montejo has been named by President Benigno S. Aquino III as one of the top three hardworking Cabinet secretaries.
In a news briefing at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) main office in Taguig City, Montejo said he was thankful for being one of the bearers of good news to President Aquino’s cabinet.
Montejo said President Aquino appreciated very much the works of DOST because the President likes S & T (Science and Technology) a lot as evident in his love for computers.
“Our work here at DOST is a non-political life. S&T is a simple life. We concentrate on creative development, helping boost the economy. We enjoy what are doing for the development of the nation,” Montejo said.
President Aquino’s candid admission was made Thursday before dozens of officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways gathered for the department’s 113th anniversary celebrations.
The President also named Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson and Budget Secretary Florencio Abad as the other top two good cabinet workers.
The President said Montejo’s team was responsible for the featured slides and waves at the Water Fun, a water amusement park, using Filipino technology.
The DOST chief is former chief executive officer of the Tree Top Adventure Philippines (TTAP) in Subic Bay, Zambales.
