Thus stressed top basketball star James Yap as he denied reports that he is now into relationship with actress Isabel Oli.
He stressed he is not yet ready for a new relationship.
The controversial husband of presidential sister, actress and television host Kris Aquino also disclosed that he is not courting any girl, contrary to reports.
James, however, has admitted that Isabel Oli attended his birthday celebration last month.
In a television interview aired over ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol,” the top cager said Isabel is his friend and they have been in touch for a quite some time now.
“Friends kaming dalawa. Kasi si Isabel eh Cebuana, ako Cebuano. Alam mo naman ang mga Cebuano mabilis ma-ano e…kung baga mabagaan yong loob sa isa’t-isa, but we are not dating (We are friends. It’s because Isabel is Cebuana. You know that when two people are the same (James is Cebuano), they are okay with each other, but we are not dating), “ he said.
James stressed that he and Isabel are not dating, adding that he is very much single and not ready to mingle.
He said: “Wala akong girlfriend at wala akong dinidate. Ininvite ko sya (Isabel) kasi syempre kaibigan ko sya yun lang yun.”
James added that he is not ready for any relationship now especially when he is not yet legally separated from estranged wife Kris Aquino.
“I’m not yet ready. Mahirap na papasok ka sa isang relationship na hindi ka pa-ready at darating din yung time,” he said.
When asked what gift he received from Isabel during his birthday, James said that her presence was enough already for his birthday.
James and Isabel were linked to each other since October last year after they were spotted together in a mall on a date.
Isabel immediately clarified that she was accompanied by her ex-boyfriend and James was with his friends and they just greeted each other when they met.
When news about her dating Yap reached Aquino, the latter allegedly simply quipped, “in fairness, maganda siya. I’m happy for them.”
