It’s time to move on. Thus said actress Lovi Poe after a Hong Kong court sentenced her rumored boyfriend Congressman Ronald Singson to 18 months in prison for illegal drug possession.
Singson had earlier pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.
“I don’t want to talk about it anymore because now, it’s time to move forward and be positive. Embrace the things that I have right now. Be positive. I don’t want to dwell on the bad things,” said Poe, daughter of Philippine Movie King, the late Fernando Poe Jr.
According to an ABS-CBN reporter, the actress will be focusing on her work as an actress.
“I’m not using it (my heart) for a while. I’ll just be working a lot,” she told the network.
Asked if she can keep the relationship she has with Singson, she replied: “I can’t say anything. I just wanna go on with the flow, do my job and make sure that I won’t step on other people.”
Poe told ABS-CBN that she’s in good health and happy for all the blessings she gets.
Singson has been officially dropped from the rolls of the House of Representatives following his resignation.
His resignation stopped the expulsion proceedings against him, according to Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr.
Singson has promised his father, Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson, he will resign, which he did.
Poe also told ABS-CBN that it was not true the congressman’s family is against her.
One report said Governor Singson is the only one who talks to her, according to the report.
Poe, however, refused to talk about it out of respect for the Singson family.
“Nope. I don’t want to talk about it anymore because there are a lot of people involved. I don’t want to drag them into this… Hindi sila showbiz na tao. Respeto ko na lang ‘yon na hindi sila pag-usapan in public,” Poe told the network..
