Regine Velasquez’ fantasy – wedding and a new CD

Popular songstress, television host and actress Regine Velasquez admits to having “a lot” of fantasies.

And one of them, maybe the foremost, is getting married, which she said, is set on Dec. 22 in a by-invitation only Christian ceremony with long-time partner, the equally popular actor, singer, television host and composer Ogie Alcasid.

Regine remains mum on the exact place of her wedding, but earlier it was reported that it will be held at Punta Fuegeo beach in Batangas.

As reported by entertainment editor Isah V. Red, Regine is not involved in the wedding preparations.

“My sister Cacai is doing all the planning and preparations. I am just going to the wedding venue and meet Ogie,” she told the showbiz editor who reported on her extensively.

She even joked, “I told them not to forget to give me an invite, baka hindi ako makapunta.”

Regine feels she’s been anticipating the wedding since she and Ogie announced it in June this year, according to the report. “Parang ang tagal kasi,” she said. To avoid being stressed out while waiting for the day, she busies herself with work. “I don’t want to think of it too much,” she said.

One of the things she busied herself with is to record songs for a new album titled “Fantasy,” which Universal Records released in time for her wedding.

“Fantasy”, according to the report, is Regine’s second CD for the Universal Records label, the first one was the 2008’s Low Key which was went platinum as certified by PARI, the local association of recording companies.

Fantasy is a special collector’s item CD box-set that contains two discs with 12 original ballads on disc one and revivals of 10 on the second disc. The album’s carrier single is an Ogie Alcasid romantic ballad, “You Don’t Know.”

Already, the recording company has produced a music video Nani Naguit directed. The song and the video are both enjoying massive airplay on the radio and the country’s top music channels.

The first disc which contains all-original OPM material also assembles the work of some of today’s most talented songwriters such as Francis “Kix Salazar (“Been Waiting”), Ramon Luis Silvestre (“Always,” a duet with Jay Perillo), Nyoy Volante (“This Time”), Janno Gibbs (“True Romance”), Edwin Marollano (“Sana’y Laging Ganito”), Chito Miranda (“Ok Lang Ako”), Noel Mendez (“Fairy Tale” and “S.M.I.L.E.”), Robin Nievera (“Smile”), Isabela Ledesma (“Funny One”), and another song by Ogie Alcacid entitled “Walang Iba.”

On Disc 2, Regine belts out Gerard Kenny’s “Fantasy,” America’s ”All My Life,” Paul Davis’ “I Go Crazy,” Heart’s “What About Love,” Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach,” Lighthouse’s “You And Me,” Glair Mario’s “Without Me,” Landon Pigg’s “Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop,” The Eagles’ “Love Will Keep Us Alive,” and Five For Fighting’s “Dying.”

“Fantasy” also has two sets of packaging that every collector should have—one colored and one in black and white featuring Regine in rare and never-before-seen photos as taken by the lens of top photographer Mark Nicdao. Each box-set contains 10 sets of post-cards that are in color and in black and white.
