Secretary Ochoa said that President Benigno S. Aquino III has formed a presidential selection committee that will conduct a search for the next chief of the poll body.

Melo tendered his irrevocable resignation to President Aquino last Nov. 23. It will take effect on Jan. 31, 2011.

Earlier, it was reported that Ochoa will be replaced as executive secretary by Energy Secretary R. Almendras. Almendras, however, denied the report.
