ShareThisActress Lovi Poe has clarified talks that her rumored boyfriend, Congressman Ronald Singson of Ilocos Sur, has already asked her to marry him.
“No naman. ‘Wag ganyan kasi baka maniwala ako. It’s very flattering, of course. Natatawa ako kasi no. Eh, di sana meron akong…. (showing off her ring finger),” Lovi said on GMA Network’s “Showbiz Central,” Oct. 24.

Lovi, daughter of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr., said that he was not ready for marriage.
“I’m still young,” said, adding she has other things to do first.
“Kung sino man ‘yung taong iyon sa buhay ko, marriage is not an option for me until I find the right person, until I find the husband in him.” Marriage, Lovi stressed, is not even in her priorities, reported Alex Brosas in the Manila Bulletin.
“I’m not even thinking about it. Siguro when the time comes that I’d got to be with that someone, I have to make sure na I’ll give all my love and my time na rin doon.” For Lovi, finding her niche in showbusiness and establishing a more stable career is the immediate goal.
“Lumaki ako na mahirap ang buhay ko so I wanna establish myself first. Gusto ko makatayo muna ako sa mga sarili kong mga paa before I settle down with anyone.”
The actress says her happiness does not lie in other people’s hands.
“I don’t depend on anyone. Gusto ko, until I grow up I’d be with that someone , gusto ko hindi ako nakadepende sa kanya.”
For somebody who’s gone through a lot in life, Lovi takes advantage of all the pains she’s experienced and uses it in her craft. “I’ve got through a lot since I was a kid hanggang sa ngayon. So, doon ko nalang hinuhugot lahat. Kumbaga, nagpatong-patong na lang kung marami kang pain sa buhay, why don’t you use it na lang [for good],” she said.
