Don’t give malice on P-Noy’s absence in Senate anniversary—Sen. Marcos

MANILA – Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday asked people not to give malice on the absence of President Benigno Aquino III in the Senate reunion last Wednesday night.

Sen. Marcos said, there must be reason why President Aquino failed to attend the Senate reunion held Wednesday night at Sofitel Hotel in Ccp complex, Pasay City.

According to Marcos, the President could have a prior commitment which prevent the chief executive from attending the 94th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Senate.

He added, we must not give malice to his absence and must understand the hectic schedule of the President.

President Aquino in a chance interview on Wednesday night at Hotel Sofitel told reporters that he has prior commitment to attend which prevents him to show up in the Senate reunion party.

Aquino attended the birthday celebration of former Pasay City Mayor Eduardo Martin Calixto on Wednesday night held in function room just beside the venue of the Senate reunion.

The President also explained that he could not show-up in the Senate reunion after attending the birthday celebration of former Mayor Calixto since he has to rush to the wake of Sonia Roco’s daughter.

Also absent during the 94th Senate anniversary reunion on Wednesday night was former President and now Pampanga Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo after she was held up in Congress for budget hearing.
