Pope Francis condemns killings in Mindanao

MANILA — Pope Francis has condemned the “senseless attacks” that killed at least nine civilians in Southern Philippines recently.
In a telegram sent to Cardinal Orlando Quevedo of the Cotabato Archdiocese by the Pontiff’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Holy Father said he was saddened by the killings. Continue reading →

The Making of a Monument (One generation’s legacy to the next)

The Dr. Jose Rizal Monument was the brain child of the late Sir Roberto Roque and Lady Herminia Roque of the Order of the Knights of Rizal, Malaya Chapter. Conceived in 1994, the initial plan was to purchase a bronze statue at $65,000. A letter was sent to Quintin Pastrana, Deputy Director of the Philippine Centennial Commission for the acquisition of the statue in 1997. Continue reading →

High Court stops disqualification of presidential aspirant Grace Poe
