Widespread health scams

by Dr. Philip S. Chua.
January 1, 2013

The snake oil scam of yesteryears took decades to travel from town to town. Obviously, that saved a lot of “potential” victims. With the advent of the internet age, scams, in general, including fraudulent health products and unfounded “food supplement” claims are disseminated with lightning speed around the globe through the world wide web, reaching massive numbers of people. Pag-asa ni Obama

by Fermin Salvador.
January 1, 2013
Continue reading

The New You – Reinventing Self for 2013

by Fred C. Wilson III
January 1, 2013
“The way to get started is to quit talking and get doing.” -Walt Disney-

James and I are hanging out in Starbucks, waiting for our daughter’s oil change at a dealership across the street to be done. What better way to kill time than to be here where the bold aromatic deliciousness of coffee tickles your nostrils and sends you to a happy place? Continue reading

Why Social Security Matters For All Americans

by Don Azarias
January 1, 2013
According to the trustees who oversee the retirement and disability program, the trust funds that support Social Security will run out of money in 2033, unless Congress acts. At that point, Social Security would collect only enough tax revenue each year to pay about 75 percent of benefits. That benefit cut wouldn’t sit well with the millions of older Americans who rely on Social Security for most of their income. Continue reading

New Year’s Cycle, a Recycled Story

by Arnold De Villa
January 1, 2013
The clock moves towards 12, the last 2 numbers of our current year, soon to turn 13. Channels surf as we watch the routinary parties from different parts of the city, this country and around the world. Excitement is both offered and fabricated while hedonistic rituals inspired by toxicating substances push through this nocturnal vigilance. Continue reading
