Reconciliation

I wish I could write about this topic in the context of the controversial health care reform but now is not the time. Though it’s a word that sends a lot of smoke to people watching what’s going on in Washington these days, I’ll take my chance at waiting till the smoke clears up and the solution to health care reform is more predictable and firm and there- fore, no longer vulnerable to political maneuverings.

It’s a season for breakups: Anne Curtis and Sam Milby and others

June 2, 2010 It looks like it’s the season for breakups. This was noted by respected Columnists Ethel Ramos as she reported that it now appears there is no way that Anne Curtis and Sam Milby will reconcile. The Columnists revealed that Anne is now currently singing beautiful music with commercial and ramp model Erwan Heussaf.

It is said that Erwan and Anne used to go out before, but their blossoming relationship was cut short when Anne became very busy, followed by the report that she and Sam were an item, she added. They met again at a shoot of a pizza commercial. They didn’t know they would be featured together in the ad. “Kaya para ngang providential,” Ethel quoted a kibitzer as saying. Continue reading

Stage collapses at Freddie Aguilar concert in Maguindanao, singer unhurt

June 2, 2010 COTABATO CITY – Freddie Aguilar, the country’s most popular folk singer, escaped unhurt when the makeshift stage collapsed during a concert Sunday in Buluan, Maguindanao. The concert was in commemoration of the 6th month anniversary of Maguindanao massacre Sunday night. Beauty queen Venus Raj gets RP e-passport

June 2, 2010 PASAY CITY – Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Maria Venus Raj finally received last Friday her Philippine e-passport, an authentication of her Filipino citizenship that qualifies her to represent the Philippines in the August 2010 edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Assistant Secretary Jose Victor Ledda of the Department of Foreign Affairs said Raj was granted her passport after a deliberation of her case by a special committee at the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA). “On the basis of documents presented by Ms. Maria Venus Raj, it is well established that she was born to a Filipino mother, and following the jus sanguinis (bloodline principle) rule on matters of citizenship acquisition, she is a Filipino citizen who is entitled to a Philippine passport,” the committee said. Willie Revillame takes indefinite leave from ‘Wowowee,’ Cesar Montano in

June 2, 2010 QUEZON CITY – Popular ABS-CBN noontime show Wowowee host Willie Revillame has taken an indefinite leave from the program following a meeting with officials of the network. The top network reported on its website that Revillame’s contract obligations, however, with ABS-CBN will continue.

This means that he may not be able to move to another station as earlier reported when he asked the station to “release him.” “ABS-CBN and Willie agreed that he takes an indefinite break effective immediately, but his contract obligations with ABS-CBN hold. This disallows him to perform similar work for any person or entity in direct competition with ABSCBN,” said Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications. Continue reading
