PAL drops fares to Manila

June 4, 2010   Overseas Filipinos raring to visit their homeland, as well as local residents planning a vacation to the Philippines, should start packing their bags as national flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) unveils another round of special fares to Manila.

The new sales promo, dubbed “Freedom Low Fares,” coincides with the celebration of the Philippines’ 112th Independence Day on June 12. During the period June 12 to 25, 2010, PAL will offer heavily discounted round-trip fares on specific flights to Manila.

A minimal add-on of $30 gets the passenger a round-trip domestic flight between Manila and any of 15 Philippine destinations – Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Kalibo, Legaspi, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran and Zamboanga.

The promo fares are for round-trip economy-class travel during the period August 16 to November 27, 2010. Fares are inclusive of surcharges but do not cover required government taxes and fees. Philippine travel tax and airport fees are likewise not included. Seats are limited.

Seats are limited. The PAL independence day promo is part of the year-long countdown to PAL’s 70th anniversary in 2011 – “Soaring to 70”. The sales promo also serves as a toast to the forthcoming inauguration of a new Philippine President. PAL’s seven-decade legacy of service to the Philippines and to the world is closely intertwined with the Filipinos’ continuing struggle for freedom.
