Another winning sportsman was PBA coach and Pampanga Vice Governor Yeng Guiao who won as congressman in the first district of Pampanga, defeated a well-entrenched political family, the Nepomucenos, in the district.
Former Philippine Olympic Committee chairman Monico Puentevella won the mayoralty race in his home city of Bacolod.
Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee also won as Vice Governor of Sarangani.
His ally, former Councilor Ronnel Rivera,  conquered incumbent Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio, the mayor who once defeated Pacquiao, in the May 13 elections. Pacquiao’s team thus beat the old dynasty in General Santos City in South Cotabao.

The Antonino clan is an old political dynasty in South Cotabato.
