Lovi Poe has no more time for Ronald Singson?

Reports are all over that former Ilocos Sur Congressman Ronald Singson will soon be released from the Hong Kong prisons after serving his sentence for possession of illegal drugs.

The same reports have reached Singson’s on-and-off sweetheart, the sultry actress and singer Lovi Poe, and she was asked: Will you go to Hong Kong again, this time to see Singson leave the detention center?
The daughter of the late Movie King Fernando Poe Jr. has a ready answer and the answer is “no.”
Yes, it’s a no and the actress, who stars in the Metro filmfest entry “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” explained that she is busy taping for a GMA Network series, so she could not fly to Hong Kong.
“No, I’m so busy sa taping ng bago naming soap, ‘Legacy,’  on GMA7 that will start airing January 16 kaya di ako puwedeng umalis,” she said.
Lovi added: “ At saka, ibigay na lang natin ‘yung important event na ‘yun to his family dahil matagal silang nawalay sa isa’t isa. But I’m happy he’ll be free soon kasi mabait naman siyang tao.”
It can be recalled that Lovi had previously been flying to Hong Kong just to see and gave moral support to Singson since he was arrested at the Hong Kong International Airport due to possession of illegal drugs.
It was gathered that Singson will be out of jail on January 14 after serving 18 months in Hong Kong prisons . And this early, Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson, his father, pointed out that Ronald will concentrate on business and may not return to politics.
Ronald Singson was an incumbent congressman of Ilocos Sur when he was arrested at the Hong Kong airport. He had to resign his post due to the incident, allowing his younger brother, Rep. Ryan Luis Singson, to take over from him during a special election.
Rep. Ryan Luis Singson said the family led by Gov.  Singson would tender a thanksgiving Mass and welcome dinner when Ronald comes home.
Hong Kong District Court Judge Joseph Yau had sentenced Ronald to 18 months in jail last Feb. 24 after he was convicted of possession of prohibited drugs.
The drugs were found in his possession by authorities at the Hong Kong airport on July 11, 2010.
Judge Yau took cognizance of Ronald’s defense that he brought in the drugs for personal use and were not intended for commerce.
“He is not a commercial trafficker but someone who has become dependent on drugs. A person who needs help instead of being incarcerated,” Ronald’s lawyer John Reading had told the court.
The judge also took into consideration the former congressman’s previous good behavior and that he has no criminal record.
Back to Lovi. She also sings the theme song of “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” where she acts as a singer. She sung  “What I Did for Love,” and she does a knockout rendition of the classic song originally sung in the Broadway musical “Chorus Line.”  She had several song numbers in the movie and her acting may merit a best actress award.
It was gathered that the premier night of movie was jampacked  at SM Megamall.
“I’m flattered sa tiwala nila sa’kin but sino ba naman ako compared to Maricel Soriano who’s also in our movie?” she said. “And there are other actresses sa filmfest like Judy Ann Santos and Ai Ai de las Alas na award-winners na rin sa filmfest before. Basta natutuwa akong maraming nagkagusto sa performance ko as Jericho Rosales’ wife na nagsinungaling sa kanya about the death of our child then felt so guilty about it.”
