Nora Aunor issue sizzles vs TV again

Bad blood seems to still exist between comebacking superstar Nora Aunor and top television network ABS-CBN.
This despite of the fact that Nora publicly stated that she has forgiven the network and its officials for their past actions.
Also, ABS-CBN itself answered her concerns and that it was wishing Nora well and that she succeeds.
The superstar is currently busy shooting the movie “El Presidente” on the life and times of President Emilio Aguinaldo.
She is also making the mini TV series “Sa Ngalan ng Ina” with TV 5.

With her in the series are former husband Christopher de Leon,  son Ian de Leon, Nadine Samonte, Alwyn Uytingcon, Edgar Allan Guzman, Joross Gamboa, Karel Marquez, Bembol Roco, Rosanna Roces and Eugene Domingo.
“Sa Ngalan ng Ina” is directed by Mario O’Hara and Jon Red.
In an interview on her TV 5 series, Nora admitted that her co-star and former husband Christopher de Leon still posses the qualities she fell in love with when they met in 1975 on the set of the “Banaue.”
They later on married that same year and have grown up children.
Meanwhile, the Superstar confirmed  an offer from TV5 for her to sign a three-year contract with the network.
Nora said the deal will likely be sealed by early October before she goes back to California.
The actress said she will stay in the US for one month and will be back in Manila immediately to resume shooting for “El Presidente” which stars Laguna Governor Emilio Ramon (ER) Ejercito  and other television commitments.
The superstar said she will celebrate Christmas and New Year in the country, her first after eight long years.
She will leave again in January for California.
She praised TV5 for giving her a big break for her comeback in show business.
“Sila talaga yung nagtiwala sa akin at nagbigay ng pagmamahal. Walang ibang network na talagang nagbigay ng importansiya sa akin,” she said.
Nora added: “Ayoko masira (yung relasyon) o gusto ko rin ipakita sa kanila yung aking pasasalamat sa pamamagitan ng pagtatrabaho ko.”
Despite her busy schedule, she has found time for an interview with YES! Magazine during which an old grudge with top network ABS-CBN cropped up again.
In the interview, she recounted the supposed unpleasant working experience with ABS-CBN, prompting her to say that she does not want to work with the Kapamilya network again.
‘Yon lang (Actually, it’s over. However, I could not bear their ways),” Nora was quoted as saying by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP).
Pero ayoko na rin sa Dos (I have no more rancor with Charo and so too with Malou. But I don’t want Dos anymore).”
Nora has done two TV projects with ABS-CBN, namely “Bituin” in 2002, with Cherie Gil, Carol Banawa, and Desiree Del Valle; and the drama anthology “Star Drama Theater Presents: Nora,” in 1992.
Nora recalled in the magazine interview: “So, di, kinontrata nila uli ako. Nauna pa ako, eh, sa set, wala silang problema sa akin. No’ng natapos na ‘yong ilang weeks… [biglang wala na].”
She continued: “Ngayon, mabuti na lang do’n sa kontrata, nakalagay na kapag sila nagkamali, obligado silang bayaran pa rin ako kung ano ‘yong dapat ibabayad sa akin.”
“One hundred percent no’ng dapat total na ibabayad sa akin ‘pag hindi ako ang may kamalian, babayaran ako,” she said.
The Kapamilya station answered Nora’s criticism also in the same issue of  YES! Magazine.
ABS-CBN said it lamented  Nora’s supposed unprofessionalism.
In a statement, the network’s Linggit Tan said that Nora’s “Star Drama Theater” stint, which was supposedly for one season running for 13 weeks, “had to be cut short because of her unprofessional working habits.”
She said Nora exhibited the same behavior when she did “Bituin.”
“For a soap to work, it has to be consistent in terms of quality, acting, production timetable… But the working habits of Nora, naulit-ulit…” said Tan.
Tan also said that “certain quarters representing her (Aunor)” had “talks” with ABS-CBN “prior to her much-talked about return to the Philippines.”
“They came to us! In all fairness to the network, we never entertained any of those offers. It’s to our detriment naman to say hindi siya interesado sa amin. We didn’t respond to those feelers. It’s not her option to choose us…” she added.
Despite the apparent bad blood that still exists between the Superstar and ABS-CBN, Tan said, “we wish her well.”
