ShareThisComebacking Superstar Nora Aunor is creating a stir again – not with her movie and television show but due to the return also of rumored boyfriend John Rendez.
And Nora reportedly is now up in arms with showbiz media which have been writing about Rendez being an alleged bad influence to her.
It can be recalled that Nora was held at the Los Angeles International Airport due to possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia. Reportedly, it was Rendez who allegedly influenced her to use drugs.
Nora was lucky, according to the local showbiz media, that she had a good lawyer and she got a light penalty, and was able to resume her showbiz career in the US.
And now, after many attempts, she is back to shoot a biographical movie, “El Presidente,” about the life and times of the first Philippine president, Emilio Aguinaldo. Nora is appearing as the wife of Aguinaldo while Laguna Governor Emilio Ramon “ER” Ejercito, a nephew of former President Joseph Estrada, plays the role of Aguinaldo. The movie is being shot in historic Kawit in Cavite where Aguinaldo proclaimed Philippine Independence and raised the first Philippine flag there.
And with the help of her friends, she is also appearing in a mini-series on TV5 and, time permitting, guesting in some events.
But lately, it was reported that Nora and Rendez were seen together in a casino.
Prior to her homecoming, Nora reportedly was hooked in a US casino, which the superstar vehemently denied.
For one, Charlie Lozo, a local showbiz columnist, wrote in his latest column that Nora has reportedly changed her ways and is now fighting the local showbiz media, especially those reporting on John Rendez.
“HINDI pa man nakasusulong nang husto ang pagbabalik-showbiz ni Nora Aunor, marami na agad ang nakakabangga niyang mga reporter,” he wrote.
“Inaaway niya ang mga reporter dahil sa pagtatanggol sa rumored boyfriend niyang si John Rendez (She fights reporters as she defends her rumored boyfriend John Rendez),” he added.
“Marami tuloy ang nagtataas ng kilay sa Superstar. Bakit daw kung kailan siya tumanda, eh, saka siya naging balat-sibuyas gayong dati-rati ay marami naman ang nagsusulat ng negatibo laban kay John Rendez na diumano’y balakid sa career ni Guy.”
“Ngayon, halos lahat na yata ng showbiz reporters ay pinagbabantaan niya ng hindi maganda at pinagbabawalan niyang punahin o tirahin si John Rendez (Now, it seems almost all showbiz reporters are being threatened and warned against writing about John Rendez),” he added.
“Dahil dito, marami ang nagsasabing masasayang ang pagbabalik-showbiz ni Nora kung ang lagi niyang pagtutuunan ng pansin ay si John Rendez (Due to this, many are saying that her homecoming may come to naught if she pays more attention to John Rendez),” he said.
Charlie defended Nora, saying nobody really wants to be an obstruction to her as she resumes her showbiz career in the Philippines.
But she asked the superstar to leave John Rendez behind when she goes to public appearances.
“Ang masasabi namin, kung ayaw ni Nora na mahamak o maisulat ng hindi maganda si John Rendez, huwag na lang niya itong ipagsasama sa showbiz gatherings,” said Charlie.
“ Asikasuhin na lamang niya ang kanyang pagbabalik-showbiz lalo pa nga’t malapit nang ipalabas sa TV5 ang kanyang special na programa (Just take care of her showbiz career and her TV 5 special),” he wrote.
