VALENZUELA CITY – Television host and Councilor Shalani Soledad as mayor of Valenzuela City?

With the 2013 national and local elections a few months away, supporters of lady councilor are now egging her to run and become the first lady mayor of the Northern Metro city.

 With her beauty and popularity, she has big potentials to win the mayorship in the 2013 local elections, they said, adding to that her proven track record during her three three-year terms.

Some supporters said they believed that the councilor is well-prepared to hold the city’s highest post.

 Soledad’s camp has yet to confirm the rumors that she has decided to throw her hat for the top city post.

 “As of now, she is only concerned about her duties and responsibilities as a councilor,” a supporter said. “We are happy and thankful that they continue to support and trust her. Many things can happen, let’s wait and see.” 

Political observers in Valenzuela believe it will be a close fight between Soledad and first district Rep. Rex Gathalian who is also rumored as a potential candidate for mayor.

City Hall insiders said Soledad will run on her track record.

After the much publicized but failed relationship with President Noynoy Aquino, Soledad have already recovered from the breakup and seemed happy now with Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo.

Sources said the 41-year-old bachelor solon is willing and ready to support her rumored girlfriend once she decides to seek the mayoral post.
