At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received,
how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.
We will be judged by ‘I was hungry and you gave me food to eat,
I was naked and you clothed me, I was homeless and you took me in.’
Hungry not only for bread — but hungry for love. Naked not only for clothing
but naked for human dignity and respect. Homeless not only for want of a room of bricks but homeless because of rejection.

There’s an obvious thread that links the life stories of this year’s recipients of the Gintong Pamana and Prism awards besides excellence, success and achievements. It’s their inherent compassion for the underprivileged, the sick and the oppressed. Their commitment to making the lives of the less fortunate, whether through medical and humanitarian missions, transfer of technology or teaching skills that will help them snap out of dependence and become self reliant and productive citizens, has offered hope to the downtrodden and inspiration to those they have touched.
Recognizing these honorees’ excellence, outstanding achievements and success in their fields of endeavor is Gintong Pamana ‘Golden Legacy’ Awards Foundation, Inc.’s way of discovering and showcasing the wealth of good deeds that keeps growing in our midst even at the height of economic recession. These are their stories…
A highly motivated and talented Filipino American twelfth grader in Greenville, Ohio sows seeds of goodness in her community by sharing her literary gift to young boys and girls in her school district.
Three brothers pursued their dreams and having excelled in their careers, did their parents and community proud.
A group of retired, semi-retired and still actively employed men and women found their calling in reaching out to their fellow Filipinos in their hometown through medical, educational, trade and other humanitarian missions.
A young entrepreneur found success and thought of one day going back to the Philippines to start a business and help create jobs for his fellowmen.
A community and business leader fought for incarcerated innocent workers in Texas and won their freedom, then went on to organize trade and investment missions in the Philippines and created $25 M in new businesses for the U.S. and Philippine trading partners.
These are true accounts that extol the virtues of our people… of this beautiful generation that “lives not on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”
For as the Lord assures us in Matthew 45:20,
“Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me.”
