It seems that Azkals football player Phil Younghusband is dead set on actress Angel Locsin.
In fact, Phil was reported to have surprised the ABS-CBN star by following her to Hong Kong last April 22, and gave her an expensive Diane Von Furstenberg handbag when she celebrated her birthday on April 23.
Phil joined Angel at the Golden Acres Home for the Aged on her birthday as she brought food and entertained the elderly there.
Then, Phil reportedly met Angel’s family later.
The actress, however, wants to downplay her alleged romance with the European-Filipino athlete, saying they were with good friends when they met in Hong Kong.
So what’s the real score between Angel and Phil?
All Angel say is that “he simply makes me happy.”
It’s understandable for her to downplay her romance with Phil as she’s promoting her movie with Aga Muhlach, “In the Name of Love.”
It was gathered that her brewing romance with Phil might alienate prospective viewers of the movie.
Angel later admitted that she and Phil exchange text messages frequently and that Phil visits her at home and has met her whole family.
She appreciates this very much, his being brave enough to face all her family members.
“In the Name of Love” is a romantic drama and Angel plays Cedes, a young woman torn between two lovers: Dylan (Jake Cuenca), the governor’s son to whom she is engaged, and Emman (Aga Muhlach), the former dance instructor who is hired to choreograph her dance number with Dylan in the Governor’s Ball. Complications occur when Cedes falls for Emman and their lives will be changed forever. This is directed by Olivia Lamasan, who also co-wrote the script with Enrico Santos.
“In The Name of Love” pairs Aga and Angel for the first time. With them is Jake Cuenca.
The movie is the 18th anniversary offering of Star Cinema. It openeds in more than 100 theaters nationwide on May 11.
The movie will have its international premiere in Los Angeles and San Francisco, on May 28 and 29, respectively.
