Aquino replaces aunt as safety college head


MANILA – President Aquino has replaced his aunt, Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco, as chairman of the Philippine Public Safety Colleges (PPSC) with Ruben Platon, PPSC executive director.

It was not clear if Mrs. Cojuangco, wife of former Tarlac congressman Jose Cojuangco, brother of the late President Corazon Aquino, resigned from her post. 

Also appointed were businessman Guillermo Luz as co-chairman representing the private sector in the National Competitivenes Council under the Department of Trade and Industry; Marissa Bondoc, wife of columnist Jarius Bondoc and former corporate secretary of the John Hay Management Board, former Kalinga Rep. Lawrence Wacnang, former Benguet provincial board member James M. Guanso Jr., Jamie Eloise M. Agbayani, wife of former Pangasinan Governor Victor Agbayani; lawyer Ceasar G. Oracion, and businessman Antonio H. Tengco as JHMB directors.
