Beth Tamayo laughs off rumor, of her death,  says she’s in US

MANILA –  Actress Beth Tamayo has laughed off rumors that she was the Elizabeth Batain who was executed by China recently over drugs.

According to director Dante Nico Garcia, director of the “Ploning” which starred the actress, Beth is very much alive and “having time of her life” in the United States.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz,” Sunday, April 10, Garcia said Beth has been communicating with him for the last months via Blackberry messenger (BBM).

Informed of the rumor about her death in China, Beth said: “‘Di pa kaya ako nakakapunta ng China. Salamat sa mga nag-alala… Ayaw ko nang patulan (‘yung balita).”

Garcia disclosed that Beth is working in a private firm and is quite content spending her life away from the limelight. “She has a corporate job somewhere. Enjoy na enjoy siya. May sarili siyang buhay ngayon,” Garcia told “The Buzz.”

“Whenever she talks about it [her life now], alam mo ‘yung saya. Kita mo ‘yung saya,” he added.

TV host Kris Aquino earlier refuted the rumors about Beth, saying that she saw Batain’s remains when she visited the latters’ wake.

Batain’s face was never shown in the media, not even before or after her execution, March 30.
