ShareThisCAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The death toll from almost three weeks of heavy rains in Bicol and 9 other regions has risen to 68 with at least 26 more missing.
Damage to agriculture crops, infrastructures and private properties was now estimated at P1.78 billion. Infrastructures damage alone was estimated at P1.3 billion.
This developed as weathermen predict more rains triggered by the cold front.
The Caraga region has the most number of fatalities with 20 followed by Eastern Visayas with 18, Bicol with 12, Davao with nine, Central Visayas with four, two each from Mimaropa and Western Visayas, and one in Northern Mindanao.
Of the missing, 12 are from Bicol, five from the Calabarzon, four from Mimaropa, three from Davao, and two from Caraga.
As of last week, 377,944 families or 1,876,510 individuals have been affected, with 10,512 of the families in 50 evacuation centers.
