With her new look, mega star Sharon Cuneta appears to be blooming.
And instead of being considered the “The Biggest Loser,” she’s the big gainer, with more appreciation coming from her fans and supporters because of her beautiful look.
Even her husband, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, is impressed, she told a columnist. “My husband Kiko is enjoying my body. He is a user, you know” she kids, letting out a hearty laughter, before adding, “He uses my body.”
Yes, Virginia, Sharon, at age 45, has the new younger look, after losing weight finally.
Already, she has lost 20 pounds and seven inches have been removed off her waistline, according to earlier published reports.
Sharon admitted though that she still has a long way to go before she reaches her target weight. “But I’m off to a wonderful start. Sometimes it pays to have someone believe that you can do it for you to take that big step.”
What is the secret of her losing weight? Crash diets and liposuction?
It’s the Marie France way of losing weight.
“I guess it’s all about discipline and finding time. Like many things in life, if you really want something, and if you believe that what you want will make you a better and happier person, by all means, focus on that and work hard to get there,” she told columnist Ricky Gallardo in his column “All Access.”.
Sharon said she is lucky for being paid (as Marie France’s latest endorser) to lose weight. “Not many people are given that privilege. You know, my initial apprehension was baka masira ang Marie France sa akin, so I gathered strength and mustered enough guts to take that one big step.”
That big step has not only made Sharon feel better about herself but has recharged her energies to bring her back to her jolly, ever-happy state of mind and heart, said the columnist.
“Parang seesaw iyong weight loss ko. Maglo-lose, magge-gain, depende sa anong nangyayari sa buhay ko at nag-midlife crisis ako. May projects, hindi matutuloy,” said the megastar of her earlier attempts at losing weight. Sharon is scheduled for three performances at the Cache Creek Casino Resort in California on January 28 and 29.
“‘Pag malungkot ka talaga kahit na uma-acting kang masaya ka, so pag-uwi ‘di mo nare-realize, kain ka nang kain,” Sharon admitted.
Columnist Ricky Gallardo featured Sharon in his latest column “All Access.”
He wrote that Sharon is beginning a new chapter in her life filled with hope, positivity and only happy thoughts.
“There were so many factors that made me sit down and acknowledge that I was going through a midlife crisis,” she said, adding, “I realized that I was no longer the person I was used to seeing. I would laugh at myself before I allowed others to laugh at me, and it was becoming more of a camouflage, a defense and a shield to whatever insecurities I was nurturing. I’m glad I started to acknowledge the realities and it was the first big step to facing up to my issues, my problems, my state of mind at that time.”
Sharon herself listed the causes for her uncontrollable weight: not eating well, getting pregnant, crash-dieting, career lows.
She admitted to having undergone liposuction at one point in her life. “It was a short-term quick relief. Then I got tired of laughing and being laughed at,” she added.
