Word Of Grace Church Holds

7th Annual Day Of Prayer For The Peace Of Jerusalem
The Word of Grace Family Christian Fellowship (C&MA) led by Dr. Richard Mirpuri as the Founder & Senior Pastor joined a global, grass roots movement focusing prayer and attention on the Middle East, specifically Jerusalem, in 2005.  The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, which was launched by a coalition of over 500 major Christian leaders around the world, drew participation from 53,000 local churches in 72 nations that year.

Leaders of the movement stress that it is not political in nature, but rather, that their urge to pray comes from a biblical directive and human concern about the ongoing crisis in the Middle East which has a world impact. “Whatever your politics or theology about Israel and the Middle East, the clear mandate of Scripture is that we should pray for the Peace of Jerusalem”, said Robert Stearns, leader of Eagles’ Wings, an evangelical Christian organization spearheading the effort.  “The repeated call of Scripture and our concern for the human suffering of those on both sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict should cause us as concerned believers to ask for God’s divine intervention”, he added.

On Sunday, January 23rd, the Word of Grace held its 7th Annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem at their Worship Center located at 3901 N Whipple, Chicago, IL 60618. Mr. Robert Schwartz – Senior Policy Advisor of the General Consulate of Israel in Chicago for the Midwest was the guest speaker. Mr. Schwartz also met with several participants to the 2011 Word of Grace Prayer Pilgrimage & Bible Tour to Israel and Egypt with a stopover in Istanbul, Turkey.

This will be the 3rd time that Dr. Mirpuri has led a group to the Holy Land. There will be 27 participants in 2011 which includes people who will be coming to Chicago to join the tour. There will be 2 from Canada, 2 from the Philippines, 2 from New York and 3 from California who will join the group departing from Chicago. They leave on March 15.
