Aggrieved PAL employee files case vs. lawmaker

QUEZON CITY — A female Philippine Airlines (PAL) employee has filed a complaint at the Ombudsman and at the House of Representatives against a party-list lawmaker for calling her a “menopausal bitch”.

Sarah Bonnin-Ocampo, a member of the PAL Employees Association (PALEA), was accompanied by members of the union when she formally lodged the complaint against Alliance of Volunteer Educators (AVE) party-list Rep. Eulogio “Amang” Magsaysay first at the Office of the Ombudsman then proceeded to the House of Representatives.

Lawyer Bernadette Carrasco, counsel of Ocampo, the AVE party-list lawmaker, was being accused of grave slander, serious misconduct, conduct unbecoming of a high ranking public official, and direct solicitation of personal favor or gain using his office.

The incident happened on the night of Dec. 17, 2010, shortly before the departure of a PAL flight bound for Los Angeles, California, which Magsaysay was boarding.
