Giant network ABS-CBN is doing popular television host Willie Revillame a big favor by its insistence on holding on to him even after it cancelled his program “Wowowee.”
This in gist is the perception of no less than former Senator Ernesto Maceda, now columnist of Philippine Star.

In his column, Maceda, who is married to a member of a movie clan, noted that Willie is assisted by a topnotch legal team hired by TV5 owner Manuel V. Pangilinan.
“It looks like Willie Revillame’s Willing Willie over TV 5 will be running for a long, long time before a final decision by the Supreme Court is made,” he said.
He reported that two ABS-CBN motions for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) have been denied.
Willie’s case gained two victories last week when an ABS-CBN executive admitted in the copyright infringement case before Makati RTC Judge Joselito Villarosa that the program Wowowee was not an original creation by ABS-CBN.
Yes, all TV stations copy or imitate shows from other stations, including US and Korea stations.
The ABS-CBN case before Quezon City RTC Judge Luisito Cortez suffered a setback and further delay when Judge Cortez inhibited himself. The case will have to be re-raffled again.
Revillame is indeed a lucky guy, said Maceda.
“Not only does he have the beautiful Shalani Soledad by his side, 21 dancing girls to entertain him, Manny V. Pangilinan behind him and hundreds of millions of pesos coming in, he has ABS-CBN actually helping promote his shows,” Maceda said.
He said he had watched the Willing Willie show several times and claimed that it’s an excellent show.
