Approval rating of P-noy drops

MANILA-– President Benigno Simeon Aquino III still enjoys the trust of majority of Filipinos.

This was disclosed by independent pollster Pulse Asia which said that it in its October survey, 79 percent of Filipinos approve Aquino’s performance while 80 percent expressed trust in his leadership.

This was down by several percentage points from 88 percent approval rating in past surveys.

The Palace is pleased with President Aquino’s showing in the survey.

Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the latest survey results indicate that there is “shared optimism” in all sectors of society.

In a statement, Lacierda said “The President urges all sectors to continue taking part in his administration’s agenda of change. The administration will not let the country down, he said.”

The survey was based on a sample of 1,200 representative adults with a ± 3 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level.
