Television hosts Pia Guanio and Vic Sotto have, indeed, called it quits.
But unlike the first time that the news of their breaking up spread and she was in tears, this time, Pia Guanio, the celebrity reporter of GMA network’s “24 Oras” and a mainstay of the network’s top-rating noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” is at peace.
“I’m good, I can actually say I’m happy,” she was quoted as saying by columnist Mario Bautista.
Pia explained further her happy mood: “I’m problem-free and nothing is bothering me at the moment. Everything is at peace. Wala akong hidwaan with anyone and this is ideal for me kasi ayoko ng may kaaway o katampuhan.”
Pia celebrated her birthday last October 24 and obviously, her erstwhile boyfriend Vic was not there.
It can be recalled that only last year, Pia celebrated her birthday with the actor, singer, composer and television host in South Africa, in what many thought was another “honeymoon” for the popular couple.
Pia’s co-hosts in GMA Network’s “Showbiz Central” had actually feted her to a special presentation during the show.
Despite admitting she is happy and at peace, Pia says she’s not sure yet where she’s going.
She cried when her “24 Oras” co-anchors, Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco, greeted her on VTR and said some very good words about her, revealing that she eats a lot inside the studio during the newscast but she never gets fat, reported Mario Bautista.
Co-host Raymond Gutierrez said the last time they interviewed her in “Showbiz Central” in July, she was sad as it was bruited about then that she’s having problems in her relationship with Vic Sotto. She even said their relationship is “under construction.”
Pia’s manager, June Torrejon, herself had confided that Pia and Vic have broken up. Was there a third party involved?
“None,” June said. “They just sort of drifted apart from each other,” she said.
