Kris back to work, banned from talking about brother’s love affair

After falling ill to hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) along with her children Josh and Baby James, the Queen of Talk Shows and Queen of Horror Movies Kris Aquino finally went back to work.

Kris Aquino

This time, she rejoined the filming of her movie, “Dalaw,” which is an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival this December of Star Cinema.

Kris and her kids were sick for a week or so and virtually quarantined at their condo while recovering. Kris started with high fever.

Kris said she hopes and prays that she and her kids would not get sick again.

“Tama na, kasi last year dengue, this year hand, foot and mouth, next year awat na, quota na kami,” said Kris.

While in sick bed, issues cropped up like her husband James Yap being linked to model and actress Isabel Oli.

Kris, who is fighting for the annulment of her marriage with the basketball star, said she is happy for the development.

“I praise God and I thank God for that. Kasi the quicker he moves on and the faster na mayroon siyang magustuhan talaga, hindi na niya pahihirapan iyong annulment. I’ve seen her commercials. She’s really very pretty,” said Kris.

She added: “We’ll both be free… we’ll both be happy.”

James, however, denied reports he was dating the model.

“Siyempre ide-deny niya, katabi niya ‘yung lawyer niya,” said Kris.

“I’m the ex, ‘di ba, so wala na ako dapat opinyon. In the same way na, in the future, ‘pag meron na akong dine-date or whatever, dapat wala na rin siyang opinyon,” she added.

Kris said she hopes this would be a good start of their separate lives. “I think alam naming dalawa na the sooner that it’s behind us, the faster kaming pwedeng magkakaron ng pagkakataon na lumigaya.”
Asked if she’s ready to open her heart again, she replies, “It will come when it comes…”

On the love life of her brother, President Benigno Aquino III, Kris is mum about it.

Kris admitted that the President and her sisters had cautioned her about talking on the President’s love live. She said: “Napagsabihan ako talaga na ‘May I remind you, ikaw ang bunso so when it comes to my romantic life, hindi ikaw ang dapat na nagbibigay ng advice.’’

Kris said she is an obedient person, so she is following their advice. “ Masunurin naman ako sa batas kaya payag na lang ako,” she said.

She said the state of the love life of the President and Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad could easily be read. The latest report about it was that the President and Shalani had parted ways. Shalani, in fact, is now being linked to Valenzuela Mayor Gatchalian.

Kris admitted the President and stylist Liz Uy are warming up to each other.

Earlier, the President, however, was reported to be dating another girl, but said later it would be the last with her.

“Ultimately buhay nila ‘yan at malalaki na sila. Mahirap magsalita dahil nga sa sobrang closeness namin,” said Kris about the President’s love life.

On the movie “Dalaw,” Anya Santos of Manila Bulletin reported that it is being dubbed a “blockbuster-in-the-making.”

Kris—whom Boy Abunda called the “undisputed queen of horror movies”— stars in the flick, the third horror movie of the presidential sister.

“Maganda, excited ako talaga kasi, uhm, it’s my third horror. Added pressure, of course, because the first two were blockbusters. Nakakatulong naman kasi this will be part of the Metro Manila Film Fest that’s why araw-araw ang shoot. It’s nice to be back working and it’s nice to be back acting,” said Kris.

For the first time, Kris has as her leading man, actor Diether Ocampo.

Kris commented on Diether: “Naiilang pa siya, siyempre kasi mag-asawa kami [sa pelikula].”

“Although we’ve known each other forever, as in, talagang we’ve never worked together,” she added.
