Pacquiao tops Mayweather Jr. in Ring Magazine pound-for-pound list


MANILA – Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has retained the top spot in the Ring Magazine’s top boxers pound-for-pound.
With him in the list is FilAm champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr.
Ring Magazine is considered as the Bible of Boxing.
An ABS-CBN report stated that Mexican Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez is at No. 3, followed by Donaire at No. 4 and American “Sugar” Shane Mosley at No. 5.
Another American boxer, Paul “The Punisher” Williams, was ranked 6th while Argentine Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez was at 7th place.
The third Asian in the list, Thai Pongsaklek “Pongsaklek Sitkanongsa” Wonjongkam, remained at the 8th spot.

Mexican Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel came in at 9th while Ukrainian Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko, who just defended his heavyweight title, rounded up the Top 10 list.
As of September 12, seven-division world champion Pacquiao still lorded over 2nd placer Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr. of the United States.
Pacquiao, the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight king, meanwhile has started his training in Quezon City for his title match with  “Tijuana Tornado” Antonio Margarito of Mexico on Nov. 13 in Texas.
At the same time, he aides also started preparing for his training in Baguio City where he will be joined by trainer Freddie Roach and his team.
The boxer-turned-congressman has been jogging, working out and doing several rounds with the mitts.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, expressed sadness over former British champion Ricky Hatton for having been caught sniffing cocaine in Britain.
Hatton, whom he defeated in Las Vegas, was jailed and then sent to the rehabilitation center.
Hatton has not fought since he was defeated by Pacquiao.
In another develoment, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been released on bail  following his arrest on a theft charge filed by his former girlfriend with whom he has three children.
