BORACAY ISLAND – Hollywood actor Michael Madsen visited this resort island this week to promote the movie “Outrage.” “This is my first time in Boracay but this is the second time I went to the Philippines. I came back to the country again because of the hospitality of Filipinos and their warm welcome,” said Madsen, who starred in Free Willy and Kill Bill films.
He first visited the country two years ago as he visited posh areas in Makati City. Madsen was invited to this resort island by Filipino movie director Ace Cruz Hererra. Hererra is the director of the said movie.
The film, which had a successful screening in this year’s Cannes Film Festival, has its premiere showing last August 14 in Metro Manila.
Outrage, which tells the story of a vacation gone wrong in the remote woods of Northern Georgia, won the Best Science Fiction Picture Award at the Action on Film (AOF) International Festival held in Pasadena, California last year. AOF is considered as one of the more progressive film festivals, and is attended by writers, producers, directors and filmmakers from all over the globe. Outrage bested hundreds of films, videos and documentaries to bag the festival’s top honor.
Released by Hererra’s own Spirit Films, Outrage stars Madsen (Kill Bill), Natasha Lyonne (Blade: Trinity), and Michael Berryman (The Devil’s Rejects), among others.
