Controversional television host Kris Aquino has returned from her three-week vacation in the United States and immediately made shocking revelations about her relationship with husband James Yap and other men being linked to her. The men being linked to her include Gabby Concepcion, Coco Matin, Gerald Anderson, Makati Mayor Jun Jun Binay and Sen. Francis Escudero. At the airport upon her arrival, she immediately denied that she was pregnant. In fact, she said she used a tight dress to prove that she is not pregnant. Kris confirmed that her five-year marriage with cager James Yap is over and she’s ready to move on.
“We have stopped loving each other a long time ago,” she said. The youngest sister of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III even mentioned in a television interview the exact date—April 26— when she decided that she would end their five-year marriage. Without elaborating, she told “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda that it was something James said to their son that convinced her to end their relationship. “I acknowledged in my heart naubos talaga yung love, April 26 of this year. May nasabi siya sa anak ko, which I will forever keep between the two of us. May nasabi siya, sa galit namin sa isa’t isa siguro, noong panahon na yon na nasaktan talaga ako,” she said. Kris said the incident showed her that “this is not the man for me, this is not the man I want to stay with because dinadamay na niya ang three years old na bata na dapat protektahan naming dalawa.”
Kris, before going on vacation to the US, filed a case in court seeking legal separation or annulment of her marriage with husband James. Kris, now dubbed the Queen of Talk, also admitted she’s communicating with Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay, one of the men being linked to her. The young Binay is now available with the recent death of his wife. At the same time, she denied any links with Sen.
Francis Escudero, who she said is very much married. Kris said among all the names being linked to her, Mayor Binay is the only one whom she’s communicating with. “Nakilala ko sya when I was losing my mother. Nakilala niya ko when he lost his wife. In the span of that one year, both our lives changed so much. He’s been good to me. A true friend,” she said. Kris surprised everyone when she directly said that she will go out with Mayor Binay if the latter asks her to. “I’d say yes, why? Dahil alam ko di nya ko lolokohin,” she said. “He knows and I know that now is not the right time. If all we’ll ever be is friends, fabulous kasi loyal sya at mabait sya talaga. He’s been good to me. And I wanna be good to him also by sparing him and his family. Pero kung darating ang panahon na maayos na ang lahat at maramdaman nya na kaya ko, kaya ko tong harapin lahat, why not. He’s eligible,” she continued. When sought for his comment on the revelation of Kris, Vice President Jejomar Binay, JunJun’s father, said he would not want to interfere with his son’s love life. “Ipaubaya na natin sa kanila lahat yan, nasa sapat na edad ang mga yan,” the elder Binay said.
Kris also received words of wisdom from Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Soc Villegas during the mass held at La Salle Greenhills in commemoration of the first death anniversary of the late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino. “Kris, as you continue to stay in the limelight of showbizness and go up higher on your career on television, remember all of these will pass.” Archbishop Villegas added: “Your beauty and talents are not yours, they are God’s. You will find your real happiness, as your mother did, not on being on the limelight but being in the spotlight lighting the face of Jesus.” Kris said Sunday that there’s no bitterness inside her right now and her main priority are her kids Joshua and James Jr. Joshua is her son with actor Philip Salvador and James Jr. with James Yap, the basketball star. Kris said she had been faithful to James, who has been linked to several women in the past, throughout their marriage. “I can honestly say na in the five years na nagsama kami, hindi ako nagloko (I can honestly say that in the five years that we were together, I never cheated). I don’t think he can say the same,” she said.
She said they had never been able to resolve James’ alleged affairs with other women. She said they just pretended that things were normal to save themselves from embarrassment. “Before, I used to question, bakit kinailangan mong mambabae (why did you have to have another woman)? Ngayon, nare-realize ko na minsan, gusto mong maramdaman na ikaw ang hari (Now I realize that at times, he wants to feel that he’s the king),” Kris said.
