Aquino moves to Bahay Pangarap, Cabinet meetings, too

CABINET MEETS AT BARANGAY PANGARAP. The Official residence of President Benigno S. Aquino III by the Pasig River provides a new setting for a Cabinet meeting held Thursday, 5 August 2010, following the Chief Executive’s statements, “na pwede na tayong mangarap.” The meeting was in fulfilment of Aquino’s promise of one cabinet meeting each month. Aquino has also moved to Bahay Pangarap at the Malacanang Park for his residence.

MANILA – From now on, President Benigno Simeon “Noyno” Aquino III and his Cabinet will meet at Bahay Pangarap during their Cabinet meetings instead of holding it at the Palace. This was disclosed by Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting which was held for the first time at Bahay Pangarap.

“Instead of holding the Cabinet meetings at the Palace, from now on it will be held at Bahay Pangarap,” he said. Lacierda said media would not be allowed inside Bahay Pangarap’s premises for security reasons. The media were instead given photos of the place’s interior and exterior.

“It’s spacious, elegant, and classy,” he said. President Aquino, based on official pronouncements, has also transferred from his Times street home in Quezon City to the Bahay Pangarap.
