Kris Aquino, Bimby hurt in EDSA mishap

TAGUIG CITY – Actress and television host Kris Aquino and her son, actor James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap, Jr., figured in a minor road accident along Epifanio delos Santos Ave. (EDSA) on the way to a shoot on April 14.

Aquino herself reported the incident on her Instagram account. Her home studio, ABS-CBN, in turn reported it on its website. GMA Network and other media also made their reports on the accident.
“Unfortunately on our way to our shoot, on EDSA 2 armored cars abruptly changed lanes swerving to lanes to the right, the vehicle in front of us made a sudden stop,” Aquino stated on Instagram. “Our brakes were good and we were all wearing seatbelts but we were bumped by the car immediately behind us.”
She added: “I wanted to be a professional and finish our commitment, but Bimb and I are really feeling dizzy from the impact and I want to make sure we’re both okay.”
In another post two hours later, Aquino shared that she and Bimby proceeded to their emergency doctors at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City.
“Thank you #DrAyeNuguid & #DrJollySantos (our emergency doctor) & all the efficient & kind staff of St. Luke’s Global. Headed home to REST. When we arrived my BP was 170/100 & Bimb’s was 130/90. We had X RAYS. And tests meant to rule out any neurological injuries. BP for me now is still elevated 140/90 (feeling muscle spasms in my neck & right shoulder), Bimb is okay na 110/70. Will miss A&A tonight, bed rest 1st & medicines r making me groggy. We were also supposed to surprise @praybeytbenjamin & pick him up in the airport tonight (nasa plane sya so he won’t read this), I super pressured Mabolo to create a FIERCE welcome home bouquet for him from Kuya, Bimb & me. Sayang…”
The actress and TV host said she had muscle spasms in her neck and right shoulder. They were later cleared to go home for bed rest.
Aquino, however, said she will miss the live episode of “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on ABS-CBN due to the accident. She also expressed disappointment that she and Bimby will no longer be able to surprise comedian Vice Ganda, as planned.
The comedian, Bimby’s co-star in “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” and Aquino’s close friend, was scheduled to arrive in the Philippines from the United States that night.
